Bring Your Research to the Public!

Join the European Researchers’ Night, the Week of Connections and Zpannend Zernike
25 March 2025

Once again, this autumn, the buzz of science will fill the air of Groningen! Join us for a week full of activities, and bring your research to the people of the North!

Last year, we welcomed thousands of visitors across the fall events for the public, giving them the chance to participate in their own science experiments, get insights on cutting edge research, explore the ethics and stakes behind discoveries, and most importantly, have a lot of fun!

What are the options this year?

We kick off with the European Researchers’ Night on  science festival on the last Friday of September (the 26th) at  Forum Groningen, organised by the Schools for Science and Society and partners. This year, the event expands even further—spanning four floors of the Forum to make space for even more visitors. Also, we aim to extend the programme to early afternoon to reach another demographic in our fall science activities - high school students. ERN is followed by a new series of events during the Week of Connections (27 September - 3 October) organised to bring science to local communities. We round off with Zpannend Zernike (4 october city centre and 5 October on Zernike Campus), a science festival for primary school children and their (grand)parents, as part of the national Weekend of Science.

Do you want to participate, but are not sure how? Register now and we can support you in creating an accessible activity for the public.

If you have any questions, please contact info zpannendzernike.nl (for the ZZ festival) or ern rug.nl (for ERN and the Week of Connections).

Join us to get science closer to the people of the North and feel free to share this call with your colleagues.
