Course 2: History of Philosophy
ECTS 7.5 / Semester 1a
In this course you will become acquainted with central arguments and figures from the history of philosophy which have shaped and continue to shape the way we think. This is done through reading and discussing central texts in the history of western philosophy. You will look at the works of Aristotle and Plato from classical antiquity, study the relationship between metaphysics and the sciences through the eyes of Leibniz and Clarke, read Kant’s account of knowledge and discuss Hegel, Marx and Heidegger. Through this overview you will critically analyse and engage with various Western philosophical traditions, topics and debates.
