Junior Research Meet-up

When:Th 24-04-2025 09:45 - 17:00
Where:House of Connections

Aletta's Talent Network invites those working on any topic in the field of public health to participate in the fifth edition of the Junior Research Meet-up!  The event will take place on 24th April, 2025 from 9:45 - 17:00.

With the theme of ‘Bridging Research, Policy and Practice for Sustainable Well-being’, this event aims to bring together early-career researchers who work on topics related to public health, to let them share their research, receive feedback, and expand their network.

The day will comprise of an illuminating morning Keynote by Charlotte Hoffmann and Rik Lubbers. They will be talking about the Epistemic inequality in global health. Following the Keynote, audience members will be able to breakout in the parallel sessions. In the Foyer, three fireside chats will be organised. Have you been curious to ask burning questions related to the themes of Aletta? Then join the chats and ask the experts! In the Breakout Room, a Career workshop will be organised to share insights on what the differences are between an academic CV and an industrial CV.

Following a busy morning, lunch will be provided where you will be able to mingle with fellow Meet-up participants. We will be providing stickers to denote your availability to chat so there is no pressure to engage throughout the lunch break. This is to support individuals who prefer to eat in peace and talk after eating.

After lunch, the seven selected junior researchers will present their research and showcase the developing public health research to audience members. A parallel session will follow the junior research presentations, with two fireside chats and the Career workshop being organised again. Before the final keynote, a short coffee break is organised. The afternoon keynote will be Prof. dr. Corry van der Sluis, who will give a talk on Implementation and patient participation.

Following the keynote, the event will wrap up with some concluding remarks and a networking borrel.
