Mining and oil drilling have transformed the environment in places such as Johannesburg, the Copperbelt and the Niger Delta. This presentation by Iva Pesa centers people's lived experiences of dealing with air, water and soil pollution in localities where industrial and artisanal mining meet. What role do zama zamas, jerabos and practices of kpo-fire play in making sense of environmental change?

This presentation is part of the Presentation Series on Illicit Trade and Sustainability of the Illicit Trade research group within the Development, Security and Justice theme.
