Life of a researcher can be hard. On the one hand you need to work on your publications. On the other you feel an urge to create societal impact. But how does impact work? What am I allowed to do? Who is the target group of my research? What are some good practices (or bad ones). And, where can I get some support? Well, this call just might be the opportunity for you to learn more about what you can do to become an Impact Expert and be part of the next generation of researchers.
During the session, a group of research management (Sharon Smit, Director Sustainable Society & Camilla Schaafsma, Funding Officer BSS) will ask all kinds of questions about your research and we will help you to build up a strategy as a pathway towards societal impact. In order do get this tailor-made support, we ask you do some preparations. You will get clear instructions for this, but in general you can expect to prepare a short pitch where you explain your research (and if you are up for it, how it creates societal impact) and to make a short list of possible end-users / audience / stakeholders that might be interested in your research.
Depending on the topics / disciplines or other factors, we will decide on how to group you, but in any case groups will not be bigger than three researchers during one session (of 1 hour). This means you can learn from us as well as from your colleagues.
Register by sending an email to sustainablesociety@rug.nl and we will schedule a session for you (and your colleagues) on 9 June.
