TRANS AWARENESS SYMPOSIUM | Understanding and supporting trans and gender diverse youth
When: | We 20-11-2024 10:00 - 13:00 |
Where: | M.0061, Munting building - Grote Kruisstraat 2 |
Objective
The 20th of November marks the anniversary of the International Convention on Children's Rights, and is also the Trans* Day of Remembrance, honouring those lost to anti-trans violence. In light of these two important social justice themes, we will gather to reflect on fostering inclusive environments and advocating for systemic change to support trans* and gender-diverse children and youth. This event aims to address the critical challenges these young people face within various psychosocial systems, such as mental health, education, child welfare, and community support. We hope this event serves as a call to action for stakeholders across various sectors to collaborate, share strategies, and build more inclusive and supportive systems that ensure all young people, regardless of gender identity, have the opportunity to thrive.
