The Agricola School, in collaboration with the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature, and Food Quality, recently hosted a delegation from the city of Yancheng, China. The visit aimed to foster collaborations in researching the Yellow Sea wetland, which gained UNESCO World Heritage status in 2019, on par with the esteemed Wadden Sea area.

Led by Mr. WU Benhui, Vice Mayor of Yancheng, the delegation engaged in fruitful discussions during their visit to Groningen. The delegation, representing a population of 7 million, expressed keen interest in interdisciplinary studies on global flyway, regional economic development, sustainable tourism, and agriculture.

The potential for mutual cooperation and shared expertise in these areas has the power to contribute significantly to sustainable development worldwide. By leveraging the similarities between the Yellow Sea wetland and the Wadden Sea area, both regions can work together to enhance research, conservation efforts, and economic growth.

Agricola School, renowned for its commitment to excellence in research, is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. The collaboration with the Yancheng delegation presents a unique chance to foster global partnerships and promote sustainable development practices.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting collaboration between Agricola School, the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature, and Food Quality, as we strive to make a positive impact on the environment, tourism, and agriculture.
