Lustrum: making connections
Lustrum: making connections Making connections

Making connections and the UG

‘Making Connections’ was our anniversary theme and also the theme of the strategic plan. The focus was on maintaining existing and making new connections. Connections with and between talents, with knowledge partners, social parties, companies; with the region and the rest of the world. And above all: internal connections across the various disciplines.

The lustrum was an excellent moment to give extra substance to this. We look back on it with great pleasure.

Logo

Our logo was designed by Vera Post.

Most people know her from the illustrations she did for the big Groninger Cat book.

The idea behind the concept is derived from serpetines. Festive strips of paper in different colors that often intertwine. A festive representation of making connections and links with different people, countries, disciplines. This idea is combined with the shape of the shield from the RUG logo.

The image can be applied in many different ways. For example, it also works well as a pattern. This creates a kind of 'road network' which nicely represent the different roads you can take as a student, alumni and employee of the RUG.
