IWCN: Make it in the North

The International Welcome Center North is a non-profit organization that will equip you with everything you need to make your transition to life in the Northern Netherlands. The IWCN is located in the building of the Gemeente Groningen.

Are you an international student? We are here to welcome you and help you make the most of your time in our beautiful region.

Need to collect your residence permit? You can do it right here.

How about your municipality registration and BSN number? Yep, also here.

Opening a bank account? We can facilitate that, too.

Learning about Dutch culture and language? We’ve got you covered.

Want to meet new people? Just sign up for one of our many events!

At our welcome center at the Gedempte Zuiderdiep 98, we recognize that integration goes beyond just the practical matters and formalities of moving to a new country. To feel at home, you need a sense of community. That’s why we also offer a range of social events, clubs, and activities to help you meet your new social circle and feel at home in the Northern Netherlands.

During the Job Festival the IWCN opens up for International Students of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen. After being guided (1:45 Harmony square) from the Harmony to the IWCN, you’ll get a tour and learn more about networking during the workshop: “Own your Career: Where to start networking to find jobs and internships as an international”. You will learn all about Make it in the North, the platform of employers in and around Groningen that offer vacancies for non-Dutch speaking employees. Are you ready to own your Career?
