This initiative aims at bringing together all those interested or working on the intersections of natural language and Artificial Intelligence.
The Language and AI colloquia will take place from October 2024 to May 2025. Each colloquium will take place on Friday, it will start at 14:00 and will end at 15:00. For the interested people, it would be possible to arrange 1-on-1 meetings with the speakers.

Max Glockner
The speaker for the fith Language and AI Colloquium is Max Glockner with: 'Towards Evidence-Based Fact-Checking for Real-World Claims'.
Glockner is doctoral researcher at TU Darmstadt. He holds a BSc (Computer Science) from Hochschule Mannheim and a MSc (Internet and Web-based Systems) from TU Darmstadt. He conducted his master thesis at the collaborating lab of Bar Ilan University, where he worked on analysing sentence representations in the context of NLI.
Prior to starting at UKP as a PhD student Glockner worked in the industry as Consultant/Data Scientist. He is interested and working on trustworthy methods and datasets to combat misinformation.
