Students who want to apply for the Pre-Master's Econometrics, Operations Research and Actuarial Studies or the Pre-Master's Economics (tailor made) need to register for the EORAS or Economics Master's programme in Studielink and the Progress Portal. If applicants do not meet the requirements for direct admission, the Admissions Board will check the application to determine whether a Pre-Master’s programme can be offered.
Applicants with an international diploma cannot apply for a Pre-Master's programme directly. Instead, you should apply for a regular Master's programme at the Faculty of Economics and Business. If your credentials and educational background are insufficient for direct admission into the Master's programme, the Admissions Office will check the application to determine whether a Pre-Master’s programme can be offered.
To apply for a Master's programme, applicants need to register online on Studielink and the Progress Portal. For more information on the application steps, see How to apply.

1 May - for all Master's programmes
The Pre-MSc year was my first time living in the Netherlands, and honestly, I didn’t know what to expect before I arrived. I was full of excitement but also a bit of uncertainty. Looking back, it turned out to be a truly fruitful year—I made great friends, developed valuable skills, and discovered new career possibilities.
The courses in the Pre-MSc programme were well-designed and gave me a solid foundation for my master's. For example, the Mathematics and Asset Pricing courses prepared me for more advanced finance subjects like Portfolio Theory. Meanwhile, the Econometrics and Research Paper courses sharpened my analytical thinking and got me ready for thesis writing. I appreciated the balance between lectures, where we explored theories, and tutorials, where we applied them. I also had the opportunity to work on different group projects, which taught me how to collaborate effectively in a team.
Beyond academics, FEB offered a variety of extracurricular activities that allowed me to broaden my skill set and explore different career paths. I attended Career Center workshops that helped me build a strong CV and motivation letter. Joining the FSG study association and organizing events helped me develop leadership and communication skills. I also joined several Learning Communities offered by the faculty, where I explored cutting-edge topics like blockchain and worked on real-life consultancy projects, solving business challenges for companies. These experiences helped me gain a clearer view of my true passions and career goals.
