Spinoza Prize for Cisca Wijmenga
Professor of Human Genetics Cisca Wijmenga is one of the winners of this year’s Spinoza Prize, the most important science prize in The Netherlands. She will receive EUR 2.5 million which she may use freely for her research.
Wijmenga receives this prize mainly because of her work on coeliac disease. You can find more on her research and the prize in the University of Groningen press release. In the filmp clip below, which was made last year when the University celebrated its 400th anniversary, Wijmenga explains the relationship between genes and health.
