Dr. N.E. (Nynke) Vellinga

Dr. Nynke Vellinga is a senior researcher at the STeP research group at the Department of Transboundary Legal Studies of the Faculty of Law. In her research, Nynke works on new technological developments, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the legal challenges these technological developments pose to the existing legal framework. Her research focuses on technological developments in the mobility sector, predominantly on developments concerning automated driving.

As a new YAG member, Nynke wants to address inclusion in academia, especially for those experiencing physical health challenges. Although many improvements have already been implemented to foster inclusion, there are still many steps necessary to come to a truly inclusive environment. Through her role at the YAG, Nynke aims to contribute to developing this inclusive environment in academia.
