Relevant research areas in GEM
The research in GEM deals with the multinational firm in a globalizing world. On the one hand, globalization affects the environment within which the firm is operating. The changing surroundings of today’s multinational firms are studied in international economics (IE). On the other hand, the changing environment of the firm (e.g., the market in which it operates, or institutions) affects the firm’s behaviour, which is at the heart of international business and management (IBM).
