The prize is a high award which will be presented for the first time by the European Marketing Academy (EMAC). Quality of research is an important criterion. The prize will be awarded at the EMAC conference in Copenhagen from 2 to 4 June 2010. Leeflang will share the prize with professor Berend Wieringa from the Erasmus University.
The EMAC award is the highest award to be presented to a teacher of marketing who is a member of the European Marketing Academy. Other criteria for the prize are teaching and supervision, creativity and innovative strength, and the supply of services to the marketing community and the public in general.
EMAC was founded in 1975 and is a professional society for academics who are involved or have an interest in marketing theory and research. The academy aims to be the core of a communication network in the field of marketing, in order to spread information and to promote the exchange of international marketing knowledge.
