Learning Community AI, innovation & society

Will artificial intelligence spark the next great leap in human productivity? Will it unlock the mysteries of science or redefine the very essence of human existence? At the Jantina Tammes School, we believe these questions deserve thoughtful exploration and we invite you to be part of the conversation.

In the upcoming semester, students from across the University of Groningen will have the opportunity to join the second edition of our Learning Community: 'AI, Innovation, and Society'. This includes lectures and workshops that feature experts from both academia and industry. This programme is a joint initiative by the Jantina Tammes School and the Groningen Digital Business Centre, with support from Samenwerking Noord’s extensive network of public and private organisations.

Following this programme, students from all faculties will collaborate on multidisciplinary projects with real-world applications. Teams are formed using an unbiased selection process, ensuring diverse perspectives. This hands-on approach equips participants with consultancy skills, practical AI knowledge, and valuable connections to support their future careers.

Hosted at the University of Groningen’s House of Connections, the Learning Community offers students a unique chance to:

  • Work with peers from different disciplines.
  • Engage with professors and industry experts.
  • Explore AI-related career opportunities through company collaborations.
