First JTS Scholars announced at JTS Year-End Event

10 January 2025

During the JTS Year-End Event on 13 December 2024, the Jantina Tammes School (JTS) proudly introduced its first cohort of JTS Scholars. These ten researchers, affiliated with the University of Groningen (RUG), were selected for their contributions to interdisciplinary research and their alignment with the JTS mission: Digital prosperity for all.

The JTS Scholar Programme officially began on 1 January 2025. A few weeks earlier, during the festive Year-End Event, the Scholars were officially introduced.  These researchers will serve as ambassadors for the school, helping to strengthen its mission through meaningful collaboration and engagement.

About the JTS Scholars

The inaugural scholars represent a variety of disciplines and are committed to advancing interdisciplinary collaboration, both within the university and with societal partners. Over the next years, they will work closely with the JTS to:

  • Share knowledge and foster collaboration;
  • Organise interdisciplinary activities and events; and
  • Support and participate in research projects that connect academia with society.
The following UG researchers are appointed as JTS Scholars:
