Funding opportunity: NWA call Research along Routes by Consortia 2024
Research along Routes by Consortia funds research projects spanning the entire knowledge chain, involving interdisciplinary consortia. Within consortia researchers collaborate with citizens and societal partners. The application process for this annual funding round of the Dutch Research Agenda (NWA) is now open.
The NWA call is strongly aligned with the mission and set-up of the Jantina Tammes School of Digital Society, Technology and AI. The School has an active network within the university and links it to social and industrial partners. The Jantina Tammes School will gladly support researchers in forming a consortium and setting up a project for the NWA call. Previously, the Jantina Tammes School supported the HAICu project . This consortium received an NWA-ORC grant of 10.3 million euros last year.
The Dutch Research Agenda (NWA) comprises 12,000 questions posed by the Dutch population to science, summarised in 140 cluster questions. Based on these 140 cluster questions, 25 routes have been formed, in which important scientific, social and economic issues in society are put on the agenda. These 'routes' provide themes for the NWA call.
The themes reflect one or more of the cluster questions. For the 2024 NWA call, the themes 'Smart Industry 5.0' and 'Empowerment of Dutch citizens through Transparent AI' particularly align with the mission of the Jantina Tammes School. The current NWA budget for 2024 is 108 million euros, divided among the themes. A budget of 6.75 million euros has been set aside for each theme.
More information on the NWA-ORC 2024 can be found on the NWO website.Last modified: | 12 February 2024 10.39 a.m. |
