Walk-in session: Research Software Management made easy

When:We 03-07-2024 13:00 - 17:00
Where:CIT Smitsborg, CIT-5431-0017 Zebra

As part of the TDCC NES project “Best Practices for Sustainable Software”, we are hosting a walk-in session with experts from the eScience Center to preview a new tool being developed within the project. We invite both researchers and research support staff to attend.

In the span of an afternoon, we will demo a decision tree meant to help researchers identify the relevant aspects of a Research Software Management Plan (RSMP) for their own software projects. The tool will also help the researcher fill in the plan with an easy and documented interactive section, following the choices made in the decision tree. The tool explains and links to resources on best practices and, while researchers of all level of experience can use it, it is designed to be helpful to users who are just starting out in software management.

While general feedback on the tool is appreciated, you can of course also bring your own project and try out which advice you would get from the tool. If you have any questions to us or the eScience center experts joining us, we will be glad to talk to you!

The event is a walk-in session, where you are free to come by at any moment during the reserved time. We ask you to please register to give us an idea of the amount of people we can expect during the afternoon.

For registration, visit the Digital Competence Centre webpage.
