Faculty initiatives

Faculty initiatives

We have set out below which recognition and rewards initiatives two different faculties have taken within the scope of the five UG tracks:

  • Career pathways
  • Quality assessment
  • Leadership
  • Balance between team and individual
  • Competence development

Career pathways

Faculty of Economics and Business

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) offers talented researchers the opportunity for development by following a career track.

Talented academics who have been selected for a career track are given the chance to strengthen their research portfolio, improve their teaching and management skills, and qualify for full tenure and promotion.

Faculty of Science and Engineering

The mission of the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) is to excel in research and teaching in a broad range of disciplines to allow its staff to advance their professional and personal development.

Faculty of Philosophy

The Faculty of Philosophy has adapted its promotion policy in the light of Recognition and Rewards, after a consultation with all scientific staff members. The promotion policy considers a broad range of criteria (teaching, research, international recognition, service, valorization, and acquisition) and allows staff members to choose their own profile with different possible focus areas.

University College Groningen

The University College Groningen (UCG) offers the Bachelor in Liberal Arts and Sciences. As an interdisciplinary faculty with a strong focus on teaching, UCG academic staff consists of approximately equal numbers of teachers and lecturers from a broad range of academic disciplines. The principles of Recognition and Rewards are the basis of the new promotion policy, which considers the four criteria teaching, research/impact, academic citizenship and leadership.

Leadership

Faculty of Arts

At the Faculty of Arts, we pay attention to leadership development by offering a tailor-made program to various groups within the faculty, from talented young academics to (experienced) academic leaders. These groups are challenged and helped to develop their (personal) leadership through 3 different programs.
