Workshops

Overview of workshops

Below is a brief overview of our workshops. More detailed information about each of the workshops is provided in the following sections.

Balance

A healthy work-life balance is important for everyone. In this workshop, students investigate their signals of helpful and unhelpful activation (stress). Next to that, students formulate a strategy in case of too much stress and also investigate beliefs from the (academic/medical) context that can cause stress.

Values

Knowing your values increases your self-knowledge and can help you make choices that suit you. In this workshop, students get to know their own values, those of their fellow students and those of the (medical) professional group better.

Goals

What are the goals you pursue? Are these goals in line with what you find important in life? And how can you continue to work towards your goals, even when you come across obstacles? During this workshop, students will work on these questions.

Collaboration

During this workshop, students reflect on their teamwork in an interactive way. The workshop provides new insights into the way team members collaborate and students translate these insights to concrete actions to optimize the collaboration.

Tame your inner critic

We all know him, that negative voice, for example when something happens that you experience as unpleasant. In this workshop, students get to know their negative voice, also called your inner critic. In addition, they practice responding in a more helpful, compassionate way to a stressful event.

How am I socialized?

Each student develops a professional identity. In this workshop, students learn and reflect on this development, which often takes place unconsciously. They examine what is implicitly and explicitly transferred to them by role models and through their context in which they live.

Body awareness

Self-knowledge is not only in your head, but also in your body. During this workshop, the students get to know their own body better, for example by doing a meditation exercise (body scan). They also learn about the 'window of tolerance' theory and apply it to themselves.

Qualities, pitfalls and beliefs

Knowing your qualities and pitfalls can help you to further develop and use your qualities (without ending up in your pitfall). In this workshop, students learn about their qualities and pitfalls. In addition, they investigate whether beliefs stand in the way of deploying and developing their qualities.

Boundaries

Inappropriate or boundary-crossing behavior comes in all shapes and sizes. In this workshop we focus on mild forms of inappropriate behaviour. Students become more aware of their signals that can occur when someone, or they, cross (their own) boundaries. They also practice with a way of communicating that they can use in these situations.

How to deal with feedback?

Simply put, feedback is any information we receive about ourselves from others around us. Yet we often interpret the word feedback in a negative way. In this workshop students will learn how to look at feedback in a different way and how to change the reaction to feedback, to get the most out of feedback.

Perfectionism

Perfectionism is common among many students. Perfectionism is a nice quality because positive attributes such as accuracy, reliability and perseverance are associated with perfectionism. However, if the student is too perfectionistic, the student may suffer from this (for example, continuing too long, or procrastinating). In this workshop, students reflect on their degree of perfectionism and are given tools to deal with perfectionism.
