For UCG Outgoing students: You can find more information on partners after logging into the student portal.

Multi Faculty Exchange partners

UCG students who study abroad may attend one of the programmes offered by the University of Groningen through the Multi Faculty Exchange partners (MFE).  All MFE partners are non-EU countries and include universities in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, China, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and others.

The options provided to UCG students change annually. The allocation per faculty is updated around mid-October per year.

Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM)

Erasmus + International Credit Mobility (ICM), in partnership with the European Commission, offers exchange programmes and scholarships to students who want to study at one of the selected universities in countries outside of the EU as part of their degree. There are several partner universities in Europe (Non-EU), Asia, Latin America, and Africa.

Free Mover

You may choose to go to an Exchange programme that the University of Groningen does not have an agreement with. In this situation you will be considered a Free Mover. You will be responsible for arranging most processes yourself, but the Exchange Office is on hand to assist. Generally, you will have to pay the tuition fee to your host university while paying tuition at UCG. However, in some EU Universities, this is not applicable*. While a Free Move will be exempt from the general UCG Exchange process, the student will still need to make sure their programme meets the requirements of a personal minor abroad.
