dr. M.M.E. (Marlies) Hesselman

Assistant Professor International Law / Chair of Groningen Center for Health Law

Dr. Hesselman is chair of the Programme Committee for LLMs PIL, IHRL and GCL and Internship coordinator for the LLMs Public International Law and International Human Rights Law. She is part of the UG Teaching Academy Committee on Diversity & Inclusion. She is founder and academic coordinator for the GCHL Summer School on "Global Governance of Health Vulnerabilities in Africa", organized jointly with Mzumbe University, in Arusha, Tanzania.

Dr. Hesselman supervises PhD students, LLM and LLB thesis students with an interest in the areas of international human rights law and energy access/justice, climate change, and environmental health law. She is open to further proposals in these areas.
