dr. L.J.W. (Wim) Labree

Wim Labree is a health scientist and a clinical psychologist with solid experience both within private practice, as well as within the academic field. Familiar with all facets of health care in a variety of roles (care provider, patient, manager, member of the board, lecturer, researcher).

Starting his career in Rotterdam at both Erasmus Medical Center (Erasmus MC), and Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR). At the institute of Health Policy and Management, he defended his thesis, in order to obtain his Doctor of Philosophy degree. Book title: Differences in overweight and obesity between primary school children from migrant and native origin.

Pursuing his career in the North of the Netherlands at the Department of General Practice, which is a division of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). In the hospital’s Specialty Training Programme, he supervises, mentors, and coaches doctors to become a competent, respectful, and compassionate general practitioner.

Labree is responsible for co-ordinating our postdoctoral mental health care education.

Wim Labree is commissioned as an Internship Director, holds a Chair at the Department’s psychosocial and psychiatric curriculum section, and is appointed Council Committee President.
