K.M. (Konstantin) Wacker, PhD

Konstantin M. Wacker is an assistant professor at RUG since 2018.

He previously worked for the macro department of the World Bank (2013-2015) and as an assistant professor at University of Mainz (2015-2018), and held short-term assignments at the Austrian Central Bank (2017), the European Central Bank (2012/13), the International Monetary Fund (2011), and the United Nations University - WIDER (2010).

His research has been published in Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Review of International Economics, World Development, Labour Economics, Review of World Economics, and World Economy and received a Klaus Liebscher Economic Research Scholarship from the Austrian Central Bank (OeNB) in 2021 and a Kurt Rothschild Price in 2020.

He holds a PhD in economics and applied statistics from the University of Göttingen (2013) and also studied in Vienna, Alicante, and Beijing.
