J.K. (Judith) Daniels, Prof
Prof. Dr. Judith Daniels studied Psychology at the Universities of Giessen and Bielefeld, Germany. Subsequently, she received a research grant for a PhD project on the topic of Secondary Traumatization. She completed her doctoral studies under the supervision of memory researcher Prof. Dr. Markowitz at the University of Bielefeld. Then she relocated to Hamburg, where she worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University Hospital Eppendorf, studying the effectiveness of psychoanalytical therapy for children and adolescents. During her second postdoctoral fellowship at Western University (London, Canada), she spezialized in neuroimaging methods focussing on altered brain function in individuals with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Subsequently, she relocated to the Department of Psychiatry at University Medical Centre Charite (Berlin, Germany) where she specialized in the neurobiology of Dissociative Disorders. After a short stint as Juniorprofessorin at the Department of Psychosomatic Medicine of the University of Magdeburg (Germany), she took on the position of associate professor and Rosalind-Franklin fellow at the University of Groningen. Prof. Dr. Judith Daniels is tenured (since 2016) and has obtained the status of adjunct hogleraar with jus promovendi (since 2019).
