dr. J.E.M. (Erjen) van Nierop
Erjen van Nierop (1975) is Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen, The Netherlands. In 2002, he obtained his Ph.D. in econometrics at the School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands. His research interests concern the effects of price, promotion and shelf layout effects on sales as well as consumer choice models. His publications have appeared in journals such as Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Marketing Letters and Journal of Retailing. He has extensive experience teaching undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. students, in the areas of marketing resarch and marketing model building. He also has experience in executive teaching, mainly in the area of business analytics and statistics.
Next to being associate professor of Marketing, Erjen is also senior researcher at EFMI Business School in Baarn. In this position, he teaches professionals in the FMCG industry in the Executive MBA program, which is offered by University of Groningen Business School.
