I.M.E. (Irene) Douwes-van Ark

I train lecturers (e.g. for their University Teaching Qualification) and give workshops about course design and active learning. Together with my team, we also train other practicioners who are involved in the training of university teachers. My main expertise lies in the theoretical frameworks of academic professional development and effective evaluation of teaching practices.

In the past, I have trained over 100 teaching assistants for their role, in order for them to support lecturers in online education.
