Gijsbert Vonk leads a four year research project 2023 - 2027 on "a dignified life in social security, towards a stronger role for social rights" financed by the Stichting Institute Gak. This project investigates how the prospect of 21st centuty social welfare dystopia caused by exclusions, rigid sanctions and digitalisation can be kept at bay by emphasizing human dignity as a key value underlying the human right of social security
