E. (Esther) Visscher, MSc
Esther holds a master in educational sciences and a master in pedagogical sciences, both of the University of Groningen. She started her career as an educational advisor and trainer at the Ministry of Defense, at the Royal Institute for Marine officers. In 2018 she went back to Groningen and joined the team Educational Staff Development, also as educational advisor and trainer for university staff. In this role she has developed and coordinated various courses and workshops, for example the base course ‘university teaching skills’, ‘teaching large groups’ and ‘supervising thesis students’. As educational advisor she supports teachers at the University of Groningen within a broad domain, from instructional design to (formative) assessment and student-centred teaching. She is part of the expert group on Continuous Professional Development and is also participating in internationalization projects.
Esther is involved as a researcher in the Masters of Didactics programme. Specifically, she is interested in instructional design and will therefore support evaluation of the programme on this topic.
