I am an assistant professor in the University of Groningen’s department of Innovation Management & Strategy, faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). I am an experienced researcher and educator, and have previously worked as assistant professor at the University of Liverpool Management School’s, and as a researcher at Utrecht University. I obtained my doctoral degree from Radboud University under the supervision of prof. Joris Knoben and prof. Ayse Saka-Helmhout.
My research focuses on the relationship between organizations and their environment. My core focus is how geographic, network, and institutional arrangements affect innovative capacity. I am especially interested in how these factors interact in complex ways. To understand this, I use a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods and insights from various disciplines, from strategic management to economic geography.
