Ik ben assistant professor bij de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (Innovation Management & Strategy, faculteit Economie en Bedrijfseconomie - FEB). Ik ben een ervaren onderzoeker en docent, en heb eerder gewerkt als assistant professor bij de University of Liverpool Management School, en als (toegepast) onderzoeker bij de Universiteit Utrecht. Ik heb mijn PhD behaald bij de Radboud Universiteit onder de begeleiding van prof. Joris Knoben and prof. Ayse Saka-Helmhout.

Mijn onderzoek gaat voornamelijk over de relatie, ofwel wisselwerking, tussen organisaties en hun omgeving. Daarbij speelt onder andere hoe geografische, netwerk, en institutionele factoren innovatieprestaties beïnvloeden. Ik ben met name geïnteresseerd in hoe deze factoren op complexe wijze samenkomen. Om dit bloot te leggen gebruik ik een mix van kwalitatieve en kwantitatieve methoden, alsmede inzichten uit verscheidene disciplines - van managementwetenschappen tot economische geografie.
