Curriculum Vitae

Durk-Jouke van der Zee is an associate professor of Operations at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen, The Netherlands. He received his MSc and PhD in Industrial Engineering at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. He teaches in the areas of operations management and industrial engineering. His research interests include health care systems engineering, simulation methodology and applications, simulation & serious gaming, and manufacturing planning & control. Most of his research projects are initiated, defined, and executed in close collaboration with partners from industry and the (semi-)public sector.

Publications of his work can be found in leading OM/IE and health (management) journals, like Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Simulation, IIE Transactions, Transportation Research B, Neurology, Stroke, Medical Care, and BMC Medical Research Methodology. He is a member of the INFORMS SIMulation society (INFORMS-SIM).
