Loss Experiences and Grief During Clinical Forensic Psychiatric Treatment
Within forensic psychiatric hospitals (FPHs), people experience many losses, including loss of autonomy, romantic/social relationships, societal/ familial participation, and work/career perspectives. While grief is often assumed to occur after bereavement and has been studied most in this context, other loss-experiences appear to elicit similar grief responses. We aim to study what type of losses are related to FPHs, how common these are and whether there are grief symptoms presented that can be treated.
