Students as Teachers

A strong start

Are you ready to step into your role as a Student-as-Teacher with confidence? 

In this interactive training, you will learn about your responsibilities in teaching, how to create a safe learning environment, essential teaching techniques and effective strategies on motivation, communication and feedback.

Target audience

The course is intended for all UG students who are actively involved in teaching as student assistants, teaching assistants, tutors etc

Workshop 1: Thursday 20 March 2024 (9.30-12.30)
Workshop 2: Friday 21 March 2024 (9.30-12.30)
Workshop 3: Thursday 27 March 2024 (9.30-12.30)

You need to be present during all workshops.

Physical workshops at the Zernike Campus;
Asynchronous work is available in Brightspace

Asynchronous online activities via Brightspace.

Learning outcomes

After completion of this training, the student...

  1. can evaluate her/his/their role as Student-as-Teacher in terms of tasks, responsibilities and limitations;

  2. can recognize and has practiced creating a safe learning environment;

  3. has practiced motivating students, communicating effectively, and interventions (the basic principles of effective feedback and questioning techniques).

  4. can reproduce and use basic teaching techniques that increase student engagement.

StuKO EDU Badge

After successfully completing the training and the corresponding assignments, the student will receive a StuKo certification in the form of a digital Edubadge.

An Edubadge is a digital, verifiable certificate that proves you’ve mastered essential teaching competencies. The StuKO Project is an intra-university initiative aimed at supporting and recognizing students who are involved in teaching activities within their universities or Universities of Applied Sciences. This makes your certification recognizable among various universities in the Netherlands.
