Norms and rules

Norms and rules state the commonly (dis)approved behaviour in a certain
setting. It is for example disapproved to litter or steal and approved to
help others in need. How can we strengthen the influence of these norms on
behaviour? Research in this area investigates the mechanism behind social
norm influence and the factors that weaken or strengthen this influence.
