Hi! My name is Daria, I am 23 years old and I am about to start with my fifth year of medical school at the University of Groningen. I am deeply passionate about surgery, due to the dynamic nature of this field, requiring precision and constant innovation. Before going to medical school, I pursued professional ballet for 10 years, so dancing continues to be a passion of mine. During my free time, I enjoy travelling, dancing or doing other sports. Along my medical internships, I am busy with a research project and with various committees. I look forward to the summer school and to meeting you all!
Hey guys! I'm Nico, Co-Chair of the committee for this year's Orthopaedics and Trauma Summer School. Coming from the sunny south of Italy, I'm a fourth-year medical student, currently doing my clinical rotations at the University Medical Center Groningen. I'm thrilled to make this year's summer school an unforgettable experience!
Beyond the world of medicine, you'll find me at the gym, or traveling to different corners of the globe. I also cherish moments spent with friends, whether it's exploring new places or simply enjoying each other's company.
Orthopaedics and trauma have a special place in my heart. As a medical student, witnessing the transformative impact of interventions in this field has been truly awe-inspiring. It's not just about mending bones and tissues; it's about restoring mobility and quality of life, a concept that resonates deeply with me. I firmly believe that delving into the intricacies of orthopaedics and trauma is pivotal for the future of healthcare, and I can't wait to share that enthusiasm with you at our upcoming Summer School!
Hi everyone, my name is Leo Yoon. I’m in my 3rd year of medical school at the University of Groningen. I’ve had an interest for orthopaedics and sports medicine since a young age from playing lots of sports. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, basketball, and golf. I’m also currently doing a pilot project in the cardiology department. I’m looking forward to meeting you all!
Hi everyone! My name is Carlota Eikelboom (20), I am a third-year medical student here in Groningen!
I have always loved doing sports, anything from horse riding, dancing and tennis, so I have a great interest in orthopaedics and especially in surgery. I have lived in Groningen for the past 3 years, but I grew up in Spain my whole life. In my spare time, I enjoy doing research at the cardiology department for PLN cardiomyopathy and watching Netflix.
