
Learning Outcomes
After this course you will be able to:
1. Explore key topics in acute care: Gain knowledge of current and emerging issues in acute care, such as the future of the field, the role of AI and technology, sepsis management, and the integration of research into clinical practice.
2. Understand the patient journey in acute medicine: Learn to analyze and manage the patient journey from pre-hospital care through to emergency department admission and stabilization.
3. Enhance research skills in acute medicine: Develop the ability to create a research proposal aimed at improving the quality of acute care, applying critical thinking and evidence-based approaches.
4. Develop practical skills in acute care: Gain hands-on experience with key assessment tools and procedures, including the ABCDE approach, POCUS (Point-of-Care Ultrasound), intubation, and CPR.
5. Engage in collaborative learning and discussions: Participate in group discussions and collaborative workshops, enhancing communication skills and the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
Workload
Upon successful completion of the program, the Summer School offers a Certificate of Attendance that mentions the workload of 40 hours (28 hours corresponds to 1 ECTS).
