Liz Cooper
PostDoc GUIDE-BEST project
Liz is a polar tourism scholar who specialises in sustainable tourism, tourist behaviour and tourist psychology. In her PhD research, she explored the psychological mechanisms driving (un)sustainable tourist behaviour among tourists to Greenland, and field-tested behavioural interventions to change their behaviour. She is particularly interested in the psychological tensions around travelling to remote and fragile places, and how these tensions can be leveraged to the benefit of destinations. Liz is employed on the GUIDE-BEST project until late 2026.
