The role of law in shaping migration across Europe

-

Dr Jonas Bornemann is researching the role that law plays in shaping migration in Europe. In doing so, he is also looking at ways in which opposition to migration influences the European migration project as a whole.

One of Jonas' most important findings to date is that individual countries cannot effectively manage migration when they act alone. Instead, countries must work together to create a fair and organized immigration policy that supports the broader European project.

Jonas Bornemann is an assistant professor of European Law. His research shows how migration laws can make people's lives insecure, but also how those same laws can offer them protection. He wants to emphasize how complex migration law is and how difficult it is to apply it fairly and consistently.

In this video, Jonas tells us more about his research.
