Gun clanging in the digital realm

-

Dr. Evgeni Moyakine researches the so-called gun clanging in the digital domain: from AI-powered defense against cyber attacks to attribution to malicious states.

Technological developments follow each other in rapid succession and significantly influence our globalized and digitized society. Moreover, technological changes and innovations contribute to the increase and sophistication of cyber threats.

Evgeni Moyakine is an associate professor of IT law. He studies fundamental and practical cybersecurity issues and conducts research on how we can use AI to detect, assess and capture vulnerabilities in computer systems. The goal: to adequately protect those computer systems from digital threats such as hostage software and DDoS attacks.

He also focuses on the attribution of offensive cyber operations to states or other actors. He wants to clarify whether and to what extent such operations can be linked to hostile countries involved in digital attacks, which are effective despite preventive measures.

In this video, Evgeni talks more about his research and the ways he integrates its results into education.
