Requirements
An exchange is possible during your bachelor and your master. In IESE you can check if the university of your choice offers courses on bachelor level or on master level during an exchange. To be eligible for an exchange period students must meet the minimum requirements below. Bachelor students are allowed to opt for an exchange where only master courses are available as long as they meet the requirements. General remarks
Meeting the minimum requirements does not mean that students are automatically selected. The final selection will be made by the Faculty’s selection committee. This committee will assess all factors in each file as submitted to them and depends on the destination students choose. These factors include a.o. requiremenst from the partneruniversities, GPA, motivation to study at the specific partner universities, cultural sensitivity, level of studies, study progress, etc. It is paramount to provide the selection committee with all relevant information.
If the number of suitable candidates for a specific university outweighs the number of available grants or places, the selection committee decides which candidates are most suitable. The committee will always aim at placing as many students as possible at a university of their preference. Priority is given to students who have not yet been on an exchange programme.

Credits during exchange
Students of the English taught LLB programme International and European Law have a mandatory exchange period scheduled for the first semester of the third study year. Students are required to pass a minimum of 30 ECTS during their exchange semester; at least 25 ECTS must consist of law courses. The remaining ECTS can consist of non-law courses which are related to the programme (e.g. criminology, international relations, political science, etc.). The characterisation of the courses is at the discretion of the Board of Examiners.
Exchange in home country
Students that would like to work towards access to the Bar and/or judiciary in their home country can also use this exchange period to study at a partner university in their home country. Under certain conditions they are still eligible for the Eramus+ or Marco Polo grant.
