Our esteemed guest for the opening will be Glimina Chakor, member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands, where she has been a member for GroenLinks-PvdA since 2023. Before that, she was alderman (wethouder) in Groningen, and working on topics like environment, climate, integration and emancipation policy, among other things. And although working in The Hague these days, she still pays attention to issues that are important and relevant in the northern part of the Netherlands.

During the opening, she is happy to engage with students, staff and other attendees about her background, drives and motivations, and how the expertise of specifically our faculty can contribute to challenges and social issues in themes such as health, meaning and cultural diversity. Please note: this part will be in Dutch.

Afterwards, there will be drinks at 5 p.m. at the faculty (Oude Boteringestraat 38, Groningen).
