Exchange Courses

The Faculty of Religion, Culture and Society offers a wide range of English taught courses in our Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes to incoming exchange (non-degree) students.

Lectures take place in small groups, so students can benefit optimally from the lecturers’ broad expertise. The courses are characterised by a continuing interaction between the lecturers and the students, leaving ample room for student participation, discussion and continuous coaching.

Bachelor’s Exchange Course Units (Semesters 1 + 2)

Most of the course units in our Bachelor’s programmes in Theology and Religious Studies are open to incoming exchange students. Exchange students hosted by other UG faculties are welcome to take course units of up to 15 ECTS at our faculty.

Master’s Exchange Course Units (Semester 1)

At Master’s level, you can choose course units from the one-year master’s programme in Theology and Religious Studies. Due to the structure of this programme, there are no no course units offered in the second semester.

Practical information

An academic year consists of two semesters. Each semester is divided into two blocks (a + b). Each block finishes with an exam period. A normal workload corresponds to 30 ECTS per semester (= 15 ECTS per block).

All course units are taught in English, therefore it is very important that you have sufficient proficiency in English. If you fall below this level, you will have trouble following lectures, participating in seminars and passing courses.

That is why you have to meet our language requirements to be able to be admitted to the exchange programme.
