Edwin Woerdman explains CO2 price increase on national radio

In an interview on the Dutch national radio ('BNR Nieuwsradio', 29 May 2018) Prof. dr. Edwin Woerdman explains on the basis of supply and demand why the price of CO2 emission rights is increasing. He also commented upon the possibility for private individuals to use emission rights as an investment tool. Woerdman questions the desirability of this, because a profitable sale would bring the right to emit one ton of CO2 back into the emissions trading system again.
