Dimitry Kochenov interviewed in evening news programme Estonian TV

31 May 2013
Prof. Dimitry Kochenov (EU Constitutional Law) gave an interview to the second national channel of Estonian TV in the evening news programme 'Acute Camera' (Aktual'naja kamera), discussing the possibilities to deploy EU citizenship in order to attempt to solve some of the negative consequences of the statelessness of a share of ethnic minorities in Estonia. He suggested that bringing a declaration on the EU citizenship status of the residents of Estonia travelling on non-citizen passports would be enough to grant this group of people at least EU-level rights outside of Estonia, empowering many individuals. Prof. Kochenov is currently working on a study dedicated to the feasibility of the suggested approach. (In Russian)
