1. Who can apply?
Conditions for an exchange with the Faculty of Arts
To be eligible to apply for an exchange semester or full academic year to the Faculty of Arts, you need to meet the following conditions:

Your home university is an exchange partner of the University of Groningen (check this with the International Office of your home university)

You are a full time student at your home university

You have at least a minimum of 60 ECTS (or the equivalent) on the moment of applying with us

If you want to apply for Master’s courses, you need a Bachelor’s degree in that field of study

You can only attend for either one semester or a full academic year. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate requests for differing periods.

You need to meet our language requirements (see below)
English language requirements
The level of English required for all courses* is:
- CEFR B2/C1 or
- TOEFL iBT 92 (minimum of 21 for each section) or
- IELTS 6.5 (minimum 6.0 for each section)
- Cambridge C1 Advanced

Studying with a disability
The University of Groningen has various arrangements and facilities for students with a functional impairment such as AD(H)D, autism (ASD), blindness, deafness and dyslexia. Often, we can make arrangements based on arrangements at your home university.
