Grades and credits
As an exchange student at the University of Groningen, you can add courses from the Dutch Studies programme to your learning agreement.
Examination and assessment results are usually expressed in grades. The Dutch grading scale runs from 10 (highest mark) to 1 (lowest mark). The grade 5.5 is the pass grade, also for Dutch Studies courses.
Passing a course means that you earned ECTS or credits for that course. The courses taught at the Dutch Studies department are worth 5 or 10 credits. You can add the Dutch Studies courses to your learning agreement. Your departmental coordinator / exchange coordinator at the University of Groningen will contact the Dutch Studies officers in order to register you in the course(s) of your choice.
You can also apply via the online application form.
