Throwback to Arts Festival 2024
On Saturday, 21 September, the Arts Festival took place again. The sunny third edition was introduced with a poem by UG house poet Femke de Heer and officially opened by alderman Carine Bloemhoff and dean Thony Visser. Then there was plenty to do for young and old around the theme 'Imagination' in various places in and around the Harmonie building. The hundreds of visitors could follow a mini-lecture or attend a film screening, but also get to work themselves as a curator of 'The Museum of the Future', as an archaeologist for a day or as a presenter of the newscast.
Researchers from the faculty were able to collect a lot of new research data thanks to the participation of festival visitors, for example on the relationship between music and memories, on regional languages and dialects, and on the future of journalism. For the real festival feeling, live music could be heard again this year and food and drinks could be bought at various food trucks. At the stall of the I-shop all kinds of UG gadgets were sold. The proceeds have been donated in full to a Humanitas reading project.
Besides familiar faces, we also welcomed many new visitors to the festival and that was exactly the intention. On to the fourth edition!
