Love across languages

x

Fictional love stories are often seen as unworthy of serious attention, because they are not considered to be socially relevant or of any literary value. Nevertheless, they have respectable ancestry and are among the most widely read imaginative texts worldwide. In this mini-lecture, Tekla Mecsnóber will dive into a selection of contemporary English romance novels. How do linguistic diversity and multilingualism play a role in these stories? And is it true that nothing has changed in terms of social inclusion and diversity in romance novels?

Please note: The festival programme, including the exact starting time of all events and activities, will be online at the beginning of September.
